-        November 26th, informal event someone to come talk about summer jobs, reps from masters and grad department to talk about 5-7pm

-        Pride western is putting on an event this Friday, transgender day of remembrance, booth there for the day, Michelle will be there to give a speech

-        History society will have the 2nd book auction of the year

-        Thanks to everyone who came to speaker’s

-        ESA: tutorials coming up

-        Anthropology: Habitat for humanity affiliation; grad club next Wednesday; things for sale in the Anthropology department

Presentations to Council

-        VP Communications (Fall Preview Day/Mid-Year Review)

o   SATURDAY!!!!

o   There will be buses that go around to every residence (coach buses – only one trip) encourage people to walk around the campus

o   Won’t come and picket for now (LTC)

o   When talking to perspective students, please do not make things up; has happened in the past

o   If you do not know program information, direct them to another person who may be able to better help

o   Activities in every faculty building; UCC – presentations, start off for the residence buses

o   Expecting a lot of questions on H1N1, uwo.ca a button that you can learn about everything in order to be prepared

o   Mustangsmovingmustangs.ca : ways to get around to campus with the strike

o   Council shirts must be worn; $15 for council members

o   Mid-year reviews could you please hand them in before Christmas break

-        Kristen Holman or Michelle Mah (Charity Presentation)

-        VP Student Events (Formal Presentation)

o   There are 8 tickets left!!! Sold 192 formal tickets

o   There are 4 buses; council will be picked up from Med-Syd (from Bre’s) at 9PM so that council is there first

o   Formal room is above the escaladers

o   2 food stations, server passing around hot appetizers

o   Tables, water station, banquet tables, dance floor, bar

o   2 students are coming in to do henna

o   Western Punjabi dance team will be performing around 11 PM

o   Last week we had the economics event; speaker was really good

o   From the Dean’s office: leadership awards are due at the end of the month, 2 references and a summary of yourself

o   Nov 20th, big art project on campus being done by social science students; in Sommerville House

o   Social news will be ready for SATURDAY

o   10 page issue; crossword puzzle and department updates

o   SSSC’s annual gift exchange and potluck: next meeting will be our last meeting before the new year, please sign up and it will also be a potluck

o   The theme for next meeting is holiday sweaters

-        VP Finance

o   Finance Committee

§  Luke and VP Finance will be getting in contact with you to go over SOGS applications; sometime next week (total of 5 or 6)

USC Report

-        New episode of fuss on the bus: youtube.com/fussonthebus

-        Featuring E-Rowe and Ray Park

-        MIT: speakers series this week in NCB

-        Health Sciences: sleepover for make a wish foundation at Jim-Bobs

-        Charity Ball: foundation is George Bray Hockey association

-        Want to encourage people who don’t usually go to the ball, want to expand their guest list

-        25 dollars before Dec 8th

o   Check for updates

-        3 alternatives: flag a ride: where a purple band and people will stop and pick you up; go to info source and show that you are a student at western, treat like a western id, if you loose it report it!

-        Shuttle service: may take a while to walk to the stops

-        Walk, Bike, Cab (fixed rates on the back of your buss pass)

-        Emily Rowe is working to figure this out

-        UWOFA and UWOSA will cross the picket line but please be respectful

-        Academic accommodations, dealt with as a per case basis

-        Exam de-stress center: hopefully will be ready to go for December exams

-        Composting: moving forward

-        USC-UWO partnership: building more of a bridge to work together because in the past it has not been the best

-        Orientation coordinator for 2010: Sarah Cassellis

-        12 new proposals have been ratified

-        Spring awakening tickets are on sale now!!

-        Want to bring western closer with other campuses; western and waterloo making a digital collaboration
